The impressive vaulted ceiling of the hall was painted by Charles Le Brun between 1681 and 1684. This vast gallery serves as the central corridor of the Palace of Versailles, connecting the Salon de la Guerre and the Salon de la Paix with the King and Queen’s State Apartments.
